Q: Does this replace the test at CG?
A: Yes..........take the online course and attend the single weekend, pass the test and a certificate will be issued in lieu of the CG test
Q: What else do I need to do to earn my license?
A: First pass the online and classroom course and then get my required paperwork together.
Q: What paperwork is required?
A: Application, sea service, physical, drug test and get a TWIC card and CPR/1st Aid card and a copy of my Completion Certificate.
Q: Suppose I get stuck on a subject what do I do?

Q: Where do I find a course to do my classroom?
A: A list of classroom courses will be available online.
Q: How much time do I have to complete the course?
A: You have 6 months from the time you get your online supplies.
Q: What do I get in the mail to use online?
A: A study guide of all material , plotting gear and actual chart.
Q: What happens if I can't complete course?
A: If you run out of time you may restart the timer by re-registering (new fee) or your participating school will give you a substantial discount on a "classroom" course.
Is there a guarantee?
No, as not everyone should be a charter boat captain.
Q: Do I have to be steering toward a professional career?
A: NO......the course is aimed at the professional operator but all the material is required by a professional, the amateur will benefit with the knowledge and become a much safer, capable mariner!

Q: How much sea time do I need?
A: 360 8 hour days of operating a vessel of 16' or more.
Q: How big a vessel counts?
A: Not over 300 tons
